Culinary and Historical Discovery of the Périgord and Southwest France: A Two-Week Regional Food and Wine Program with Chef Eric Arrouzé

UBC Continuing Studies and Chef Eric Arrouzé are pleased to offer a unique culinary and cultural program in Southwest France perfect for foodies and gourmands. Chef Eric will take you back to his roots and immerse you in the delights of the picturesque, gourmet mecca that is Southwest France. Traveling from market to vineyard, you will become captivated by one of France’s most bountiful culinary regions. This cultural program is divided in two parts; wine education and tastings are highlighted the first week, and the second week focusses on food, specifically cooking classes and wine pairings. Both weeks include numerous visits to vineyards, farms, and renowned cultural destinations. During the first week, you travel to the Bordeaux region, and make your way to the Périgord with overnight stops in Cognac, St. Émilion, Carcassonne and Albi, staying in local hotels. The second week you settle into a comfortable house in the Périgord.  You visit the numerous local markets, farms and vineyards along with other charming cultural sites. The week focusses on food and wine pairing, with numerous food workshops and cooking classes offered to all participants.

Standard Fee: $4,200 CAD, includes single occupancy accommodation, transportation during the program, some meals, six cooking classes, wine tasting workshops and cultural visits. Double occupancy ($3,900) may be arranged for participants who wish to travel with friends or family members (conditions apply). Airfare is not included in the fee.
