Identity and Intergroup Relations
This course can be applied to the UBC Certificate in Intercultural Studies and the UBC Award of Achievement in Intercultural Communication.
Learn to integrate intercultural and social justice perspectives and look critically at intergroup relations. Review identity development models and explore how culture, ethnicity, and race shape intercultural interactions. Consider the impact of systemic issues of power and privilege. Develop practical strategies for meaningful intergroup dialogue and engagement.
Format
This is a blended course comprised of two days in-class and five weeks online. One week prior to the start of the course, an email will be sent to all registered students containing instructions on how to access the online Learning Management System.
