Project Management 3: Initiating Projects - Laying the Foundations for Success

This course can be applied to the UBC Award of Achievement in Project Management Using Microsoft Project.

Start projects on the right track by coordinating key front-end activities. Learn how to define project objectives, time frames, and constraints; negotiate project scope, resources, schedules, budgets, and contracts; analyze risks; reduce delivery schedules and project budgets; obtain approval with a business case; establish change control procedures to reduce scope creep; create and respond to requests for a proposal; increase your influence in an organization and get positive results. The course is held in a seminar room. Note: Project Management 1 and 2 (IG101 and IG102) or equivalent experience is recommended.
