The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) measures awareness and understanding of cultural differences, an increasingly important competence within Canada’s diverse work environments. Developed by Mitch Hammer and based originally on Milton Bennett’s Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity, the IDI provides a valid, reliable tool for teams, organizations and individuals interested in understanding their current intercultural competence and potential areas for growth.
Completed online (30 minutes), the 50-item questionnaire is followed by an individually scheduled, one-hour review session with a certified IDI administrator and intercultural specialist and also includes a written IDI Profile
Team or group assessments to address organization-wide needs can be arranged by request. All inventory results and review sessions are confidential.
Note: Special pricing is available for students enrolled in the UBC Certificate in Intercultural Studies (CIS) Program.
