These are contracted, casual positions with varied hours through the day (8:30am-4:30pm), evenings (6-10pm) and weekends (9am-4pm).
Qualifications: Experience working with specific programs at an intermediate level. Good people skills essential. Experience in adult education an asset, though not necessary.
Duties include: Assisting students in understanding material during class, troubleshooting technical difficulties when necessary, loading images from server to student prior to/after a session, liaising with instructor and program staff, tidying up computer lab at the end of the day.

The Course Assistant (CA) is part of a team effort to create an exceptional learning environment for our students. The CA facilitates the delivery of courses and assists students to understand objectives of each program activity. UBC Continuing Studies is looking for Online Tutors for the following programs:
UBC's online tutors are business professionals experienced in facilitating online adult education. The successful candidate will be responsible for the online facilitation and guidance of students on a one-to-one and group basis. Online tutors guide and grade through continuous email communication as well as online discussions, assignments and projects to ensure that students get the most out of their learning experience.
Responsibilities of the online tutor:
Participant support (75% of time): be a source of information to the discussions. Provide feedback to the participants on their online assignments and individual projects.
Assessment (25% of time): Monitor the Discussion Groups and track online assignments. Assess and grade Individual projects. Periodically post the student's grade in GradeTracker (online Grade book) in a timely manner.
