Senior Program Leader, Technology, Media and Professional Programs; International Career and Internship Programs
Jennifer Mielguj, MA, is a Senior Program Leader in Technology, Media and Professional Programs and International Career and Internship Programs at UBC Continuing Studies, and has worked in university-level adult education programming since 2000. During this time, she has been actively involved in developing and managing a broad range of innovative, international programs in the areas of information technology, organizational behaviour, global workplace preparation and intercultural communication. She has been a champion of UBC Continuing Studies’ strategic role in international programs through extensive institutional collaborations primarily in Asia. Jennifer has also overseen the development of IT industry vendor certification programs from Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, CompTIA and CWNA, as well as collaborative cohort offerings in network administration and in technology support with BCIT. More recently she has presented at the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) conference about forward-looking funding models in CE program development.
A Vancouver native, Jennifer has had an enduring passion for foreign languages and overseas travel. After completing her undergraduate degree in International Relations at UBC, she worked for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna, Austria in the areas of funds mobilization and institutional relations. She has an MA in Science and Technology Studies from Lund University, Sweden. Her thesis focused on the university as an actor in economic development and examined university-industry-government relations; Mode 2 universities and knowledge production; and national and regional systems of innovation.
