Program Manager, Technology, Media and Professional Programs
Lynn Fujino, MEd, is a Program Manager with Technology, Media and Professional Programs at UBC Continuing Studies, where she leads the Professional Online Learning Office (POLO) team. POLO facilitates the design, development and delivery of online certificate programs.
After graduating from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Lynn began her career in Tokyo, Japan, where she initially worked as a technical editor. Over the course of her 12-year stay in Japan, she moved from editing and writing for the business world to instructing in the international school system, where she taught subjects that ranged from English literature to desktop publishing to physical education. After returning to Canada, she obtained a Master's of Education from Athabasca University and began working as an instructional designer in both the corporate and higher education areas. In 2007, she began working with UBC Continuing Studies to redesign and manage the UBC Certificate in Immigration: Laws, Polices and Procedures as a blended program. Since taking up her position with POLO, she now works across a number of UBC Continuing Studies certificate programs to help shape the content and ensure the learning environments meet student needs.
Lynn is a past member of the board of directors of the BC Chapter of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR BC), and has presented at conferences for both SIETAR BC and UBC Continuing Studies. She is a co-author of two papers: “Integrated Collaborative Tools” and “POLO Anyone? Changing the Rules of the Game.”
