Program Leader, Technology, Media and Professional Programs
Sarah ter Keurs earned her BEd in teaching English as a second language (ESL) from McGill University, after which she completed her MEd in Educational Leadership and Administration at UBC in 2003.
She joined Technology, Media and Professional programs at UBC Continuing Studies in April 2013 as a program leader where she oversees a portfolio of part-time and online programs including the Award of Achievement in Social Media (online and in-class), Award of Achievement in HTML5, Mobile Technology Design and Marketing, and the Global Academics Internship Program. She previously worked at the UBC Continuing Studies English Language Institute for 12 years where she developed and managed innovative programs for international EAL students.
Sarah is passionate about professional development and adult education. She is a past President of British Columbia Teachers of English as an Additional Language (BC TEAL) and is a past-chair of the national Professional Development Committee of TESL Canada. She has presented at local, national and international conferences, and has a strong interest in continuing professional development and how it can be facilitated by technology.
