“One should study mathematics simply because it helps to arrange one’s ideas.”
— M.W. Lomonossow
Since 1992 and in collaboration with the UBC Math Department, the Math Centre has been offering non-credit classes to students who wish to prepare for university-level math and calculus courses. While these courses are intended primarily for UBC students who need to refresh their basic math skills, non-UBC students who are in Grade 12 or who are over 18 years of age are also welcome.
Courses take place on the UBC Vancouver campus in Point Grey.
“The mission of the Math Centre is to help students who may be intimidated by pre-calculus and calculus to gain confidence in their math skills and enable them to use those skills for academic and professional growth and success.”
— Ramona Montagnes, Director
Programs, courses and services include:
