Summer Institute: Academic Writing for High School Students

Summer Institute

The writing expectations you encounter at university or college can be quite different than those you find in high school. This knowledge gap can be difficult to deal with because the skills you learn in high school English aren’t always enough to help you succeed in university writing. This academic writing course meant for teens ages 15-18 develops important skills in the areas of academic essay writing, essay organization, test writing, citations, and research. You also learn to evaluate sources – a skill that is important in academic writing and in your daily life. Gain confidence in your writing and prepare yourself for the challenges beyond your high school career.

Note: This course is designed for high school students ages 15-18.
