A university education in Canada or the US can open many new opportunities for the future. But many students wonder what it is like to live and study at a Canadian university. Experience University Life at UBC (EUL) introduces 15- to 18-year-old high school students to what is expected of them in a university environment and helps prepare them for a successful start to the next phase of their education.

The pre-university program can be taken over 2, 4 or 6 weeks during the summer and includes:

  • intensive 2-week courses modelled on university learning and delivered at the University of British Columbia's beautiful campus in Vancouver, Canada
  • a choice of 3 courses in July and August
  • an opportunity to stay in a UBC campus residence during the program
  • an introduction to the skills necessary to succeed at a Canadian or American university, including:
    • English speaking, listening and presentation skills
    • critical and creative thinking, team-building and leadership skills
    • academic and professional career planning skills.

Deadlines for applications are:

  • Residence Option: May 31, 2015.
  • Non-residence Option: Jun 30, 2015.

Applications received after the deadlines are processed on a case-by-case basis.
